The blur in the first smooth was a nice touch but quickly got old as the editor repeatedly used a blur type transition throughout the movie. Another thing I quickly noticed was how gun models (usually the awp) was used on the bottom left of the screen to represent how many kills the player had gotten. I didn't really like that as a whole. The strobe effect that shows two clips flashing back and forth was overused and is definitely a thing of the past. There was a simple state of transitions presented throughout the film like wipes, blurs, dissolves and sometimes no real transition at all. Some of the ideas and smooths were nice but nothing too exciting. The credits sequence took over half of the entire movie length which really bored me. Over time I think CS 1.6 editing has been going downhill and CS:S editing has increased severely.
